  • First: Would you name your son after a boy band member? A lot of parents are! Harry and Niall (like Lyle or the river Nile”) are two of the top trending names of 2012. And experts say it’s because those are the names of two band members from the popular British group One Direction.

  • Then, get ready to meet a lot of babies named Iker. It’s a nod to the powerhouse Spanish goalie, Iker Casillas, and the name has jumped 267 places in the last year.

  • Another popular, unique celebrity baby name: Bristol, as in Bristol Palin, the daughter of Sarah Palin. Bristol skyrocketed over 100 places.

  • Also, parents everywhere are falling in love with the name Adele. The world famous singing star has turned an old French name into a fresh new hit.

  • And what’s the number one trending girl’s name? It’s Mila as in “Black Swan” actress Mila Kunis. Her name has officially been voted the most influential name of 2012 and is up nearly 200 places.
