Singletons: If you want to improve your dating prospects, buy a home! That’s the gist of a new survey of more than 1,000 single people, who were asked about their dating preferences.
By a landslide, both men and women say they’d rather date a home owner than a renter. In fact, one-third of women said they’d choose a man who owns over a man who rents, while only 1-in-50 women said they’d choose a renter.
And it helps if you live alone, because 62-percent of men and women say they prefer dating people who don’t live with roommates or parents! As one researcher put it: If you’re still living with your parents, in the house you grew up in, then your dating prospects are, quote: “Dead on arrival.”
So, if you are a homeowner, what home features are most likely to impress your date?
According to this survey, the number one feature men and women focus on is the master bathroom - the cleaner and more comfortable, the better.
Next, more than half of men and women say they want to date someone who has a nice kitchen.
And it’s a bonus if your home has walk-in closets, hardwood floors, and a home theater.
I know it sounds superficial, but those are the facts. When it comes to dating, home is truly where the heart is – as long as you own it!
