If you're working 40 hours a week, over the course of a year, you'd work approximately 86 and a half 24-hour days. That means if you sat down at your desk at midnight on New Year's Eve, you'd be done with your work for the year at noon on March 27th.
Here's another one: Is there an elevator in your office building? You probably use it at least four times a day coming and going from work and from lunch, right? If you spent only two minutes each time you rode in that elevator, by the end of the week you'd have spent forty minutes just riding up and down.
Okay-- how about all that time you spend on the telephone? When you call someone, you're put on hold for an average of fifteen seconds. If you call, say, 20 people a day, by the end of the year you will have been on hold for 21 hours and 42 minutes.
