The things that make us happy change as we age. A new study from the Wharton School of Business has found that as people age, their concept of happiness changes. Researchers ran several studies on people ranging in age from teens to 50’s. What they found is that a large number of young people equated happiness with excitement, like the excitement of going to a party on the weekend.
But an overwhelming majority of older people, 80 percent equated happiness with peacefulness and contentment. Why? Well according to the study’s authors, older people base their sense of happiness on what’s happening NOW, while younger people focus on the future.
