Your pets can have empty nest syndrome!
It’s back to school time again, and with kids going away to college you might not be the only one who’s taking it hard. According to animal behaviorist, Dr. Nicholas Cummings, some pets can become psychologically unglued when their favorite human moves out of the house at the beginning of the semester.
So what’s the fix? Try enriching their environment. That means take them out for regular exercise; keep the radio on when you leave to give them a little stimulation; and buy a bird feeder or a fish tank to give them something to look at. Although, in the case of cats, make sure the fish tank has a lid.
