Saving the environment just got easier, thanks to “personal eco-concierges”. That’s the new name for people who help organize your life, in a way that helps you and the planet.
For example: For as little as $25 an hour, a personal eco-concierge will separate your trash to make it easier to recycle. They’ll also help you choose natural cleaning products that don’t give off toxic chemicals. Or they’ll even run your errands on a bicycle, so you’re not adding more pollution to the air.
Experts say there are already more than a dozen personal eco-concierge services in North America, and they’re very popular with people looking to start their own home-based business. Why?
Richelle White runs an eco-concierge service in St. Louis. And she says most people want to do something to help the environment, but they feel intimidated by the idea of “going green” - because they don’t know where to start. So, there are lots of people out there who are willing to pay someone else to help them take all the guesswork out of it. Plus, she says once people see the potential of a personal eco-concierge, they tend to become, quote: “hard core” about going green.
For example: We read about one woman who hired an eco-concierge to help her choose natural cleaning products, because other cleaners aggravated her husband’s asthma. The couple got so much relief from that service that they hired their concierge again to help them buy a solar-powered cooling system for their home.
