I'm gonna help you figure out where you want to live! There's a new book out called "Nextville: Amazing Places to Live The Rest Of Your Life" and it has a quiz that helps house-hunters figure out where to live based on their personality. The questionnaire is based on the Myers-Briggs psychology test and we read about this in O at Home magazine. If you're thinking of moving - see which of these personality types describes you. First is the Out On The Town personality. That's you if two friends call and ask you out on the same day - and you choose to go out with the friend who seems more exciting. You're an Out On The Towner if you have nothing to do on a Friday night so you check out a new restaurant that you heard about. So what does that mean as far as buying a home? It means, according to the book, that you're best suited to a college town, or a city where there's a lot to do. Like concerts, restaurants, and performances. You have a lot of energy and you need a location that has the same. The next home buying personality is the Social type. That's you if two friends call and ask you out on the same day and you try to arrange it so all of you can go out together. On a Friday night with no plans, the Social type will invite friends over for dinner, movie night, or game night. So what does that mean as far as house buying? You'll be happiest living near friends and like-minded people. Lots of land or an urban lifestyle isn't as important to you. The final home buying personality? The Hometown type. If two friends asked you to get together on the same day, the Hometowner would turn both offers down and stay home with their partner. On a Friday night with nothing to do, the Hometowner would go out to dinner at a favorite restaurant with someone they love. So, what does that mean as far as house buying? The Hometowner will be most comfortable being a regular at local restaurants. This is a person who enjoys having their own little routines and they are often happiest living near family or where they grew up*.
