You know the old game where you rip up a daisy, one petal at a time, and say, "She loves me, she loves me not"?
Well, if you really want to know if someone loves you, there's a cool new computer program that's a lot more accurate.
It's called the Love Detector, and it uses the same "Layered Voice Technology" the FBI uses to catch spies and criminals. So, how does it work? The human voice reveals stress when a person is lying, or if they're speaking to someone they love. When you're in love, the stress levels rise in your voice, revealing anticipation, embarrassment, concentration, and excitement. With the Love Detector, you use a microphone, or plug your phone directly into your computer. Your sweetie's voice is analyzed while you chat, and your computer shows in real time how they actually feel about you.
If the program detects romantic emotions, a flower blooms onscreen. The more love there is, the more impressive the flower. However, if the speaker's not hot for you, the flower loses its petals, shrivels up and dies.
The Love Detector people say it's 96 percent accurate. The product costs 50 bucks, but they only have a Windows version at the moment.
