If you wake up Monday mornings exhausted from your jam-packed weekend, you're not alone.

If you wake up Monday mornings exhausted from your jam-packed weekend, you're not alone. A new survey finds that most adults are weakened by the weekend.
According to the New York Post, more than half of us spend more weekend time doing what we have to do - like grocery shopping and laundry - than what we want to do.
The poll, which surveyed over 1000 people, found that for most of us, the weekend is jam-packed with must-do activities. And while the idea of a weekend filled with mostly R&R isn't extinct, it's definitely endangered. And younger adults are more affected. Over half of them finish their weekends drained!
So what is the "perfect" weekend? In the poll, most described it as spending time with family and having dinner at home. But grocery shopping topped the list of things we actually did.
So, if you wake up exhausted on Monday morning, try these mood boosters to get your energy back:
  • Plan a low-key treat for Sunday night - a family game or dinner with friends.
  • Make a lunch date for Monday so you have something to look forward to.
  • If you do construction or another type of physical job, stay physically active on the weekend too. That way, you'll keep your energy up and your muscles won't get strained on Monday after 2 days of rest.
  • And always eat breakfast within 2 hours of waking. You should everyday   but Monday especially. It'll give you lasting stamina. And before you know it, you might actually start to like Mondays.
