Being double-jointed has its advantages!

Your arms turn inside out, doing yoga poses is a breeze, and now, research shows that you're less likely to develop arthritis!
According to Web MD, a team of researchers has found that having increased flexibility in your fingers, commonly called double-jointedness, may prevent you from developing osteoarthritis. This is the most common form of arthritis, and it gets worse as people get older.
Dr. V. Krause of Duke University Medical Center and his team looked at over 1,000 volunteers who had at least 2 family members with osteoarthritis. They found that volunteers who had the most flexibility in their joints had the lowest risk of getting the condition, even if it ran in their family. In fact, they were 66% less likely to be affected.
Kraus says these findings suggest that being double-jointed could protect people who use their fingers a lot   like computer keyboardists and string instrument players   from developing osteoarthritis.
