These tips come from relationship psychologist Dr. Pat Love, author of the book ""The Truth About Love"
- To get a guy to open up, chat him up in the car. If you've ever noticed that your best conversations happen on the interstate, there's a good reason. Men are more likely to express themselves when they're partly occupied and don't have to make eye contact. Because in the male world as in the animal world - eye contact is confrontational. Looking straight ahead makes men more comfortable. But save the soul searching conversation for the open road. No one wants to have a heart to heart when they're bumper to bumper.
- Another way to get closer to your husband: Support his dreams. If your guy knows that you've got his back, it'll help him achieve his goals and it'll strengthen your bond. According to the Journal of Social Psychology, couples who feel that their spouses support their personal goals have higher marital satisfaction.
- And one last romance tip: You can stop your next fight before it starts. Just by hitting the sack half an hour earlier, together. Being well rested cuts your stress level, improves your sense of humor, and ups your tolerance level and all those things equal fewer fights. Plus, turning in at the same time is a way of getting in sync. It's not about getting physical, it's about being in tune.
