Be stronger, happier and more compassionate

If you'd like to be a stronger, happier and more compassionate person, I've got tips. They come from Leigh Anne Jasheway-Bryant, author of I'm Not Getting Older: I'm Getting Better at Denial:
    1. Smile. It's the fastest way to connect with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. And if someone asks how your day's going, say "Terrific!"   even if it isn't. Studies show that faking a smile and an upbeat mood can actually make you feel happier.

    2. Learn to be resilient. Why? The more flexible you are, the easier it is to deal with stress. So, our expert says to write down your biggest personal crisis, and the 5 ways it made you stronger.

    3. The third way to become a happier, stronger more compassionate person: Accept other people for who they are. Because when you stop judging other people, you become more open-minded. Bottom line: learning to accept and even celebrate differences reduces stress and conflict.
And the final way to find more inner joy: reveal the real you. Why? Because it's a lot easier and more satisfying to be yourself than to always put on an act. So, every few weeks, choose one way you'll stop trying to impress someone. Such as pretending to like football just to fit in with your husband's friends.
