About 75% Of Teenagers Use IM

Emailing people is SOOO passé! If you're a teen, it's all about instant messaging.
According to BBC News, kids are becoming more and more tech-savvy. A new survey finds that nearly 9 out of 10 teenagers use the Internet   that's up a whopping 74% over the past 5 years. And while email is the most popular way for adults to communicate online, most teens prefer to instant message their friends.
About 75% of teenagers use IM. They say it's cooler because features like "buddy icons" allow them to express their personality. Let's say your friend Ashley is a huge Johnny Depp fan. When she's online, she can have a picture of Johnny Depp pop up on the screen while she's cyber-chatting with you.
So what else are teens doing online? In addition to IM'ing their friends, teens are:
  • Sending or reading email
  • Visiting websites about music, TV or sports stars
  • Playing online games
  • And reading news.
If you're a teen, give me a call. I want to know what you spend most of your time online doing - and what YOUR buddy icon is! 866-865-TESH.
