Would you like to be a whiz in the kitchen when it comes to baking?

Then, try some of these quick tips from First magazine:
  • To start, here's the fix for when you drop a piece of eggshell into your batter. Stop chasing it around the bowl with a spoon, or your finger-- Instead, just dip a clean eggshell into the batter - and the stray bit of shell will latch onto it like a magnet.
  • Then, if you always make a mess when you grease and flour a baking pan, here's a cool idea. Fill a clean saltshaker with flour and store it in your freezer. Then, next time you need a dash of flour, you can simply shake and bake.
  • And finally, if all the chocolate chips, raisins and nuts sink to the bottom of your muffins and cakes, try this: Set aside 2 Tablespoons of flour or dry cake mix. After everything else is mixed together, toss your chips or nuts in the dry mix until they're coated, then gently stir them into the batter. The flour will create enough friction to keep them in place.
And if you use these tips, feel free to send me a thank you care package. I just love homemade goodies!
