Here are Some Statistics I Want to Run by You

According to Time Magazine, 77% of Americans say they try to choose healthful foods when at the supermarket or out to eat. But 80% of Americans say they're unwilling to sacrifice taste for more healthful foods, or ones with less flavor. So basically, those 77% of Americans aren't trying very hard! But here's a new study that's encouraging: Even if you've lost the battle of the bulge, you've still won something: a longer life. Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control followed overweight and obese people for 9 years and found that those who at least tried to lose weight   even if they never dropped a pound or gained it all back   had 24% lower death rate. The lead author of the study thinks it's the process that's most important. In other words, the things you do when you're trying to lose weight, eating less junk food, eating more fruits and vegetables, and getting more exercise, are not only good for your waistline, they're good for your time line.
