Here are some quick health tips

  • Let's start with smokers--If you're trying to quit, do this: Rub the skin at the center of your palm and between your index finger and thumb. Researchers found that people who used this technique smoked 25% fewer cigarettes in a month than quitters who chewed gum. The self-massage is designed to distract you from your craving and calm you down.
  • Now, the next time you're at the doctor's office, tell him to keep his stethoscope away from you. According to a study done by the University of Pittsburgh, out of the 200 stethoscopes they tested, taken from 4 different hospitals, 80% were contaminated with germs.
  • Okay   one last one for anybody who's ever slammed their finger in a door--Plunge in it ice water for a minute. Then hold your finger over your head while pinching it. After another minute, dunk it back in the ice water. Repeat this 10 times. It'll stop the throbbing and keep your fingernail from turning black and falling off.
