Here's "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" of Summer.
Straight from the pages of Organic Style magazine
- First, The Good - Eat a slice of watermelon. It's a great source of the antioxidants found in red plants. The ones that help protect your skin from sun damage, and keep it smooth and toned. In fact, the Agricultural Research Service found that watermelon may be a better source of antioxidants than tomatoes - Which have to be heated for maximum effect.
- What's The Bad of Summer? Wearing flip-flops without slathering your feet with sunscreen. 1 in 10 melanoma skin cancers are found on the foot or ankle. And they're more likely to be deadly than the ones found elsewhere on your body. So, examine your feet when you're doing your monthly skin-cancer check. If you need instructions, check out the website at "Skin Cancer.org"
- And finally, what's The Ugly of Summer? Shark attacks! But they're not as common as you think. That's why they still make the news. You're more likely to die from a wasp or bee sting, or a snakebite. And you're 30 times more likely to die from a lightning strike. And that's The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Happy Summer!
