Spread the Spirit of the Season.

If you’d like to spread the spirit of the season, here’s how to do it – a few dollars at a time. We found these tips in Hallmark magazine:

  • For $1 dollar: “Plant It 20 20 .org” will plant a seedling tree in one of 39 countries around the world. And your indigenous tree can help increase crop yields and fresh-water availability, and reduce soil erosion.
  • For $25 bucks: you can provide a woman in one of 8 African countries with a solar-powered cooker. It eliminates the need to scavenge far from home for firewood, which is dangerous and can take hours. That website is Solar Cookers .org.
  • For $50 dollars: You can help move 1-thousand pounds of food to hungry Americans. For example, along the Gulf Coast, the need for emergency food is still 50% higher than it was before Hurricane Katrina. Check out the website at Second Harvest .org.
  • For $120 dollars: You can give a rural family a goat, providing nutritious milk, and natural fertilizer for the family’s crops. And that website is Heifer .org.
