Looking for a job? There are four deadly sins of interviewing that you want to avoid.

  • Donít wing it. Hiring managers donít like applicants who know zip about the firm. Use Google! Know at least the basics, like the size of the company and the products they make.
  • Indifference. Most interviewers are passionate about what they do. And if you canít even pretend to be excited about the job, theyíll figure you only care about the paycheck.
  • Donít get too personal. A job interview is no place to discuss your love life, family problems, medical condition or anything that isnít job-related.
  • Greed. Experts say bringing up money during your first interview is inappropriate and makes you look desperate. The manager should be the first to talk money, which usually happens when theyíre about to make an offer.
