  • Brownies or blondies? Those deliciously dense chocolate chip cookie bars - blondies. They may be light on the chocolate, but blondies contain extra butter and sugar to deliver that delicious vanilla-y flavor. In fact, a two-inch square blondie contains 234 calories – twice the calories of a brownie! You can make them both a little healthier. Simply make your recipes with almonds instead of walnuts, egg whites instead of whole eggs, and applesauce instead of butter.
