Singles, here’s how to tell if the person you’re dating is genuinely “into you”:
First up: They send you messages, funny videos, or call you several times a day. Clinical psychologist Dr. David Nias says that people who are in love experience a drop in their serotonin level, one that’s similar to what’s experienced by people with O-C-D. Which makes your new flame so focused on you that they can’t think of anything else.
Another sign that someone’s smitten: They disagree with you. Relationship expert Amy Spencer says that sometimes it takes an argument to understand just how strong a relationship is. If your date fights fair, listens to your perspective, admits it when they’re wrong, and wants to resolve things in a positive way – it means they’re not worried about conflict, or apologies. It also shows they care enough about your relationship to take a stand, and try to improve it.
The next one is for the ladies. It’s a good sign when a guy wants to fix your broken doorknob or help set up your new computer. Christian Carter is the author of Catch Him and Keep Him. And he says that, for a lot of men, making repairs and helping you solve problems is their way of saying, “I care about you and I want to make your life better.”
Finally: you know someone’s into you when they talk about a future with you in it. Life coach Bree Maresco-Kramer says that singles who are serious start talking about “next week” or “next month” long before they talk about walking down the aisle. So, if you hear about an upcoming concert on the radio and they say, “We have to go”, it means they’re in it for the long haul.
