Ladies: Why you should date a geeky, scrawny guy.
The easy answer: According to a new study, scrawny guys are more likely to be monogamous. In the study, researchers at the University of Tennessee tracked relationships throughout history and compared the success of strong men, or ‘alpha males’ with weaker men, or ‘beta males'. As you might expect, Alpha males have always been pretty successful with the ladies and they were especially important in the days when women relied on men to provide food and protection. But now, in modern times, researchers have found that weaker, beta males are more in demand.
The theory here is that beta males realized they could never compete with guys who had bulging biceps. So, since they couldn’t offer strength and protection, they offered one thing the stronger guys did not. MONOGOMY. Experts say the latest research is very clear. In the long-term, statistics show that women prefer guys who are committed, generous and monogamous. From personal experience I can tell you this was certainly not the case when I was a freshman in high school. I weighed in at 145 pounds and stood 6’6. So, yes, I was ultra-scrawny. But the girls my age didn’t care whether I was monogamous or shmanogomous. When I stood sideways, they couldn’t find me!
Ladies, what do you think? Does scrawny=safe and monogamous or just scrawny. Do bulging biceps=cheater?
