If you’re single, but don’t want to stay that way, here are a few tips to help you clear a few dating hurdles:
Not knowing how to break the ice when someone catches your eye. Therapist Dan Neuharth is the author of Secrets You Keep From Yourself. And he says you should say the first thing that pops into your head. That’s because the longer you wait, the less likely you are to say anything at all. And by the way, there’s nothing wrong with a simple, “Hi, how are you?”
The first kiss. Relationship expert David Wygant says you should only kiss someone if you feel like you’re developing a bond. But don’t wait until the end of the evening - otherwise, you’ll spend the whole night worrying about the kiss. His suggestion? Find a quiet moment during the date, and go for it.
Fear of saying, “I love you.” Communications expert Laurie Puhn says that once you’re certain about your feelings, jump in with both feet. Just say, “I think I’m falling in love with you.” Sure, it’s scary. But if you get the answer you want, you’ll be able to move forward. If not, you’ll be able to move on.
